I was talking to a friend the other day about the importance of music in ones daily life. It was a pretty complicated subject and although we couldn't come to many conclusions, it did raise a interesting question.
What presence does music play in your life?
I know, the question is quite cliché'. But nevertheless I thought about it...
long...
and hard...
I wanted to come up with something insightful...
something like, "It lets me express my deep artistic vision".
Nah total BS.
Then I thought, why do we always try to come up with definitions for such things that are undefinable? It's impossible to put into a few words the effect that music has had on my life...
When I started to look at photos of various past performances for some possible inspiration, that's when it hit me...
The photos expressed exactly what I was searching for...
The role music plays in my life...
Music is a vehicle for creating, strengthening, and keeping relationships. There are so many people I have met, spoken to, became friends with, etc, because of music.
I guess I could come up with many more roles music plays in my life but I feel that this encompasses most everything for me personally.
