Like a bowl of "Scrambled Eggs"

Sunday, April 17, 2005

"Alright group, today we have someone new joining us so please welcome him."

Hello. My name is Chris Roche. I'm a drummer. And I'm addicted to the stage.

"Alright group, what do we say?"

"Hi. Chris~!"

I have no other word to describe the stage but as a drug. The heat of the lights, the presense of hundreds of pairs of eyes, the rush of it all.

Addictive.

I herby admit that I am offically a stage addict.

For those of you who were at the Senior Talent Show, you may remember Jonathan Levy's jazz composition "Scrambled Eggs". I think I can safely say that all of us who performed that piece that night where all in the zone. That point where the music just takes you away. Where it almost literally transports you somewhere else. The countless cheers and applause we recevied during our seven minutes of glory only enhanced the drugs effect. I can honestly say I have never felt more comfortbale on stage, up there with guys I respect both musically and as individuals.

That zone I was in that night, that sensation I feel everytime I go up on stage, thats a high worth living for.

You know, along with these highs, we cannot avoid the lows. People whine and moan about it. I guess they're entitled to. But they have to realize, life is a mixed bag. You can't have the ups without the downs. That's the beauty, life is a mess, it's all scrambled up, the good and the bad served to you on one plate, take it or leave it, its your life.

Sunny Side up? Over Easy? Soft boiled? Get outta here,

give it to me scrambled.

I found something worth living for.
